Meghan Markle’s popularity made Kate Middleton “jealous,” according to a royal expert’s new book
Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton aren’t exactly the greatest of friends. Once the former Suits star joined the royal family, the two were said to have a wonderful friendship. But things quickly went south, and as of right now, Kate and Meghan never communicate. After Meghan Markle joined the royal family, her role changed drastically.
The former Suits star had a huge following at first, but predictably, her popularity fell after she and Harry parted ways.
Prince William and Kate Middleton were the more well-liked of the two couples when Meghan started her royal duties. But while the public’s response to her turned out to be very positive, a royal expert claims that William and Kate didn’t enjoy it .
Everything changed when Meghan Markle became a member of the royal family. At first, it seemed like Prince Harry and Kate Middleton would be a match made in heaven. Prince Harry had hoped that his girlfriend and eventually wife would become best friends.
Meghan and Harry have moved into the comfortable Nottingham Cottage on the Kensington Palace property. She was reportedly “taken aback” by the brothers’ differences when they went to have cocktails at William and Catherine’s opulent apartment, according to Jobson’s book, which is being serialised in the Daily Mail. “A close insider claimed that although Meghan wasn’t jealous, she was taken aback by how opulent Harry’s brother’s lifestyle was in comparison to their own. “Perhaps it marked the start of all the conflicts between the couples,” he went on.
Of course Meghan knew that William was the heir apparent, but she believed that Harry, as a prince of the realm, should have been given more. However, it seems that there were other members of the royal family who shared Meghan Markle’s jealousy.
Robert Jobson claims that Prince William and Kate Middleton themselves struggled with Meghan’s immense popularity. “At first, Meghan received a resoundingly positive response from the public, dominating the majority of headlines and possibly inspiring William and Catherine to step up their game. There were rumours of jealousy and pettiness, according to Jobson.
He said, “Petty slights, whether imagined or not, helped to widen the cracks between the two couples.”
