“Tearing Royal Family apart” are Prince William and Queen Camilla’s “tensions” about King Charles’s burial arrangements
Following his father, King Charles, passing away, Prince William will ascend to the throne. Operation Menai Bridge, the plans for the monarch’s demise and funeral, have been in the works for years. Needless to say, there will be a lavish celebration for Charles’s funeral.
That being said, it appears that there are now concerns regarding whether Charles should abdicate or continue as king in light of the recent, notable changes to many of Europe’s royal families. As a more contemporary Royal Family, Prince William and Kate Middleton are seen by their ardent followers as being more qualified to lead the Firm into a new phase and draw in new generations to their cause.
As for the rest of the Royal Family, Queen Camilla may be impacted when Prince William finally becomes king
There have been enquiries about Camilla’s whereabouts in the event that she survives King Charles’s death. Unfortunately, it has been stated by a royal specialist that the strain surrounding the monarchy is “tearing the Royal Family apart.” A number of European royal houses have had their king abdicate in recent years. 2013 saw the 75-year-old Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands formally abdicate, and Albert II of Belgium also announced his resignation that same year due to health concerns.
Disgraced Spanish King Juan Carlos abdicated in 2014, and more recently, another long-reigning king declared it was time.
Denmark’s Queen Margrethe announced her own resignation on New Year’s Eve in 2023. It goes without saying that since she was just one of several older monarchs who chose to abdicate, there have been a lot of conversations regarding King Charles’ future. Newsweek revealed in January that there had been demands for Charles to abdicate and give Prince William the throne.
Tensions are reportedly arising from the plans, which are “tearing apart” the Firm, according to The Daily Beast. The “power dynamic” between King Charles and Prince William has changed since the monarch’s cancer diagnosis in early 2024, according to Royal Commentator Tom Sykes of The Daily Beast. The royal expert added that William “is already” getting executive power and influence, which may not be good news for his brother, Prince Harry.
If the alienated prince wanted to go back into the royal fold, he would have an easier time negotiating with his father than with his brother because King Charles still wanted to see his son and daughter together. In addition, Queen Camilla is probably the one who is most impacted by this.
According to Sykes, the death of King Charles might have a big impact on his wife because William has “tolerated” her for the benefit of the Royal Family’s stability.
Rumour has it that King Charles wants Prince Andrew to vacate the Royal Lodge so Camilla can move in after his death in order to get ready for the day he is no longer with us.
But Andrew supposedly doesn’t want to go, and Prince William isn’t going to give this his top priority the day he ascends to the throne.
