Valerie Bertinelli opens out on how she was made fun of for her appearance

It is true that body-shaming occurs, and many victims’ confidence is damaged as a result. The truth is that civilisations place criteria on what constitutes “beautiful,” and people lose themselves in the process of trying to look that way. We truly begin to live our lives to the fullest when we learn to accept ourselves with all of our imperfections.

Actress Valerie Bertinelli appears to have discovered this truth and is now assisting others in embracing it. The Hot in Cleveland actress was seen giggling in a recent video she shared, with a swishing sound resonating in the background.

The actress chuckles, saying, “I had a small, hidden bruise activated today.” Trying to make a point, she continued, “My jeans are rubbing together, creating this particular sound, so you can probably hear them.”

She clarified that it had been a while since she had worn those pants and that the cause for her breakup was a comment made by her ex regarding the noise the jeans made when they walked. The ex told her that if she had been more active and less indolent, the noise would not have been generated by the jeans.

Then, Valerie explained to her audience what she meant when she made reference to the “hidden bruise.” She clarified, “Hidden bruises are things that emotional, verbal, and mental abuse does to you that are invisible to others.”

She went on, “I’m laughing now because the healing work I’m doing is working.” “I permanently stored these jeans. She may “wear them, hear that sound, and to me, that sound represents freedom” once her hidden bruise has healed.

The actress went on to say that she was unsure whether to publish the video because she thought her fans would advise her to “move on” and “let it go,” but she eventually realised that being honest about being body-shamed was actually a step towards moving over it.

Encouragement and support were abundant in the comments section beneath the video. One user commented, “Thank you for sharing the concept of hidden bruises.” “I’m really happy for you! You and your strength serve as an inspiration to many,” said another.
