While the Palace gets ready for William to take control, King Charles is “to accept limitations
In many respects, King Charles’ 2024 has been spoilt by his cancer diagnosis. Instead of being the first full year of Charles’ reign, this year was characterised by uncertainty, concerns, and challenging medical procedures.
Prince Andrew’s acts have apparently made the king’s daily life even more wretched, while Prince Harry’s actions haven’t made his life any easier. Fortunately, Charles’ cancer fight seems to be going well, especially since it was reported that his doctor approved of pausing treatment so that he and Camilla may travel to Australia and Samoa in October.
Even if King Charles is seen as a somewhat well-liked ruler, it is not ideal to have a king unable of carrying out his royal responsibilities. It should come as no surprise that there have already been discussions about his possible abdication, and there are rumours that the Palace has already begun preparing for William’s takeover.
According to one royal analyst, Charles has to come to terms with the fact that a grim future is on the horizon.
As they do each year, King Charles and the Royal Family will spend Christmas at Sandringham. Although nothing is known about how the Firm has observed Christmas following her death, we may presume that the royals have mainly continued to enjoy the holiday in a similar manner. It was stated that one of Queen Elizabeth II’s greatest pleasures was a traditional Christmas.
On Christmas Eve, the Royal Family celebrates a formal feast that frequently consists of lamb and Norfolk prawns. At 10 p.m., when the men customarily drank brandy, the queen, when she was still living, would always give the women the signal that it was time to retire to bed.
A little more contemporary Christmas Eve night, where people are free to go to bed whenever they choose, may have been substituted for this one. The family wakes up and has a traditional English breakfast consisting of beans, bacon, sausages, and eggs. A roast turkey is the primary course of their Christmas feast, which follows the customary pilgrimage to St. Mary Magdalene Church.
The family members have also continued Henry VII’s custom of “weighing in before and after Christmas lunch,” according to earlier reports from US Weekly.
This year, William has filled in for his father on multiple occasions. He attended France’s great D-Day anniversary ceremony on behalf of King Charles and the Royal Family, and he returned to France as late as December to witness Notre Dame’s reopening five years after the devastating fire.
The Prince of Wales is clearly preparing for life as a ruler, and regrettably, another royal specialist now argues that Charles must accept his fate. Royal analyst Sally Bedell Smith asserted in an interview with People Magazine that Charles must “accept limitations” while undergoing cancer treatment. Meanwhile, Kate Middleton and William Middleton “have been preparing for their future roles” far earlier than they had anticipated.
Bedell Smith stated, “The King has had to accept limitations during his cancer treatment, despite the fact that he is performing his duties with typical determination.” William has been taking on additional duties as a result, and he and Kate have been getting ready for their future positions earlier than they had anticipated.
Within the Palace’s walls, “there is a sense of calm before the storm,” a palace source told GB News. Since Kate’s health has obviously taken precedence, the insider added, “they are next in line for the biggest job of their lives, and it’s also allowed everyone to take a step back and figure out what’s important right now.” Do you believe that King Charles ought to abdicate?
