Why Prince William became “enraged” once his relationship with Kate Middleton became known
The romance between Prince William and Kate Middleton will always be remembered. While attending St Andrews University in Scotland, the future king was first virtually forbidden from living with his then-friend Kate. The two fell in love. But in spite of all the difficulties, the couple met one another and fell in love.
As a result, the British paparazzi press continued to do all in their power to obtain the most juicy details regarding the future king’s then-girlfriend. William reportedly made every effort to shield Kate from the disproportionate media attention, and after they dated for a while, he made the decision to assist her in navigating their more public relationship.
Prince William and Kate Middleton could never have met one another if the former had taken a catastrophic decision he had contemplated. Just a semester into his first year at St Andrews University in Scotland, the future king was reportedly pondering the notion of leaving.
William recalled, “I was quite glad she was there at the time because when I was trying to impress Kate, I was trying to cook these amazing fancy dinners, and what would happen is that I would burn something, something would overspill, something would catch on fire, and she would be sitting in the background trying to help, and basically taking control of the whole situation.” Kate stated, “It was very romantic.” “A true romantic is present there.”
Prince William naturally wanted to make sure that his developing relationship with Kate Middleton didn’t turn into the next big story for the British press to report on. In an effort to keep her from being the focus of attention, he worked with her to preserve her privacy for as long as possible.
Unfortunately, it didn’t endure, and William was incensed when their relationship was eventually made public. The public first learnt of William and Kate’s romance in April 2004. A webcam captured the now-Princess of Wales and her beau cuddling up on the slopes during a family skiing vacation.
Prince William was furious when he saw images of the couple all over the British newspapers the following day. Royal analyst Rebecca England remarked, “Unfortunately for them, a paparazzi photographer took pictures of William and Kate clearly very close on the ski lift together” on Channel 5’s documentary William & Kate: Too Good To Be True. The front page of a red-top tabloid newspaper was completely covered by it.
“William was furious, and he was genuinely worried about what this would now mean for Kate and her family,” the speaker went on. England brought up the allegations made earlier in the video that Carole, Kate Middleton’s mother, had attempted to set up her daughter with William.
